Fait partie du dossier : G7 engagement groups

The Youth 7 engagement group brings together young people primarily from the G7 countries who wish to engage with global governance issues.

It was created in 2011 under the French G8 Presidency, and involves delegates from various backgrounds who meet at several conferences and a summit, the “Youth Summit”, which this year was held in Paris from 9 to 14 June. These delegates are selected through the most transparent and inclusive procedure possible.

The “Institut Open Diplomacy” is the lead body on the French side. It organizes the work of the Y7 around the fight against inequality, in four streams: combating economic equality; combating gender inequality; combating inequality in the face of the consequences of climate change; and combating inequality in the context of major technological upheaval. These four themes were the subject of recommendations discussed at the Youth Summit and submitted to the G7 leaders. These recommendations were built on the results of a wide citizens’ consultation in spring, accessible at: https://consultation.youth7.fr/.
