The glass roof of the Jardin d’Hiver is a reminder of its past as a greenhouse, and that before hosting receptions and press conferences, it was home to rare plants. It was built in 1881 at the initiative of Third-Republic President Jules Grévy, forming a passage between the Hôtel d’Évreux and the gardens.
Like the neighbouring rooms, the Salle des Fêtes and Salon Napoléon III, the Jardin d’Hiver was restored in December 2018.
