From Sunday 8 to Tuesday 10 June 2025, President Emmanuel Macron was in Nice for the third United Nations Ocean Conference.
On Monday 9 June, President Macron opened the conference’s plenary session alongside Costa Rican President Rodrigo Chaves Robles and UN Secretary-General António Guterres.

The President then held bilateral meetings with representatives from different nations.
In the afternoon, he attended the presentation of the European Ocean Pact with European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen.
Later, he concluded the "Africa for the Ocean" panel, chaired by Her Royal Highness Lalla Hasnaa, President of the Mohammed VI Foundation for Environmental Protection.
