At the invitation of Volodymyr Zelensky, President of Ukraine, President Emmanuel Macron travelled to Kyiv this Saturday alongside Friedrich Merz, Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany; Keir Starmer, Prime Minister of the United Kingdom; and Donald Tusk, Prime Minister of Poland.
Continuing ongoing diplomatic efforts, the leaders reaffirmed that the immediate priority remains establishing a complete, unconditional 30-day ceasefire in Ukraine - a commitment already accepted by Kyiv and supported by the entire Coalition of the willing.
The leaders held discussions with US President Donald Trump on this matter.
This ceasefire should pave the way for negotiations towards a lasting peace agreement that both guarantees Ukraine's rights and interests, while addressing the legitimate concerns of Europeans - a process already initiated through tripartite meetings held in Paris and London.
Finally, beyond conflict resolution, the leaders reaffirmed their commitment to supporting the emergence of a sovereign, secure, prosperous Ukraine fully committed to the European path.
