Since 2007, this room has served as the office of the spouse of the President of the Republic. Currently occupied by Madame Macron, the design of this office is an elegant combination of classic and contemporary works.
The wall hangings, with fern designs that gave the room its name, are a replica of a lampas created by the silk manufacturer Camille Pernon in 1785, for the bedroom of King Louis XVI in Compiegne. The room is furnished with contemporary pieces, among which is the desk, designed by Matali Crasset. The desk depicts two trends of thought: the minimalist central part, in leather, is dedicated to concentration and thought. The wooden drawers, which hold computer equipment and files, serve to shape ideas and make them tangible.
