International Space Summit in Paris.

The President of the Republic attended the International Space Summit, which is being held at the Grand Palais on 9 and 10 September 2026.

Announced by the Head of State in October 2025 during the presentation of the national space strategy, this summit brings together in Paris heads of state and government, ministers, astronauts, national and international space agencies, as well as major economic players in the space sector and New Space start-ups.

90 countries and international organisations are represented, including around 60 at the level of heads of state and government or ministers.

Nearly 1,100 companies from the space sector are also present at the Grand Palais, demonstrating the exceptional mobilisation of the global space ecosystem around this event.

The Summit addresses all issues relating to the development and innovation of the space sector, focusing on three key themes:

• tackling the challenges of the global space economy through international cooperation;
• advancing science, technology and space exploration from an international perspective;
• ensuring space security through dialogue, defence and partnerships.

On 9 September, President Emmanuel Macron took part in the closing session of a round-table discussion with astronauts.
