At the invitation of Their Majesties King Charles III and Queen Camilla, the President of the Republic and Mrs. Brigitte Macron paid a State Visit to the United Kingdom from July 8 to 10, 2025.

This State Visit is the first by a European Union leader since Brexit. It follows the State Visit of Their Majesties to France in September 2023.

The aim of the visit is to strengthen the bilateral relationship around key shared priorities such as defense and security, energy, culture, space, artificial intelligence, and economic exchanges.

In the afternoon, the President of the Republic and Mrs. Macron visited Westminster Abbey.

The Head of State then addressed the House of Commons and the House of Lords at the Palace of Westminster.

Afterwards, the President of the Republic and Brigitte Macron joined Prime Minister Keir Starmer and his wife in front of the statue of Sir Winston Churchill in Parliament Square, where they laid a wreath.

They proceeded together to Carlton Gardens to lay a wreath in front of the statue of General De Gaulle and meet with veterans.

At the end of the day, President Emmanuel Macron held a meeting with Kemi Badenoch, leader of the Conservative Party, followed by a meeting with Ed Davey, leader of the Liberal Democrats.

Then, he went to Windsor Castle with his wife for the State Dinner hosted by Their Majesties the King and Queen.
