On Wednesday, 11th June 2025, President Emmanuel Macron attended the opening of the 9th edition of the VivaTechnology, a premier tech and innovation summit in Paris, France.

This event provided an opportunity for the Head of State to highlight France’s strengths in innovation and the need to build digital sovereignty and competitiveness.

He also urged businesses to harness these new tools to roll out innovative solutions on a large scale.

After touring various stands, the President joined a panel discussion alongside two leading figures in global tech: Arthur Mensch, co-founder of Mistral AI, and Jensen Huang, co-founder and CEO of Nvidia.

They discussed Europe’s challenges in the AI revolution and the path to strategic autonomy.

Later, the President met leaders of promising French startups:

  • Owkin (AI for healthcare),
  • Malt (freelance platform),
  • Pigment (strategic planning),
  • Sweep (green transition),
  • Tehtris (cybersecurity).

Since 2017, France has established itself as Europe’s leading tech hub, driven by a proactive strategy. With 25,000 startups generating over 1.1 million jobs, the French ecosystem excels in healthcare, green transition, finance, cultural industries, and cybersecurity.

The AI Action Summit, held in Paris in February 2025, further cemented this momentum, with €109 billion in private investment pledged for France.
