On Europe Day, President Emmanuel Macron welcomed Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk to Nancy on Friday 9 May 2025.
During this visit, the President of the French Republic and the Chairman of the Polish Council of Ministers signed the Treaty of Nancy - a friendship and enhanced cooperation agreement between France and Poland - in a city whose history reflects the depth of Franco-Polish relations.

This treaty shifts Franco-Polish partnership to a new level of ambition in strategic areas for both nations and for Europe, particularly in defence and energy.
This agreement follows bilateral partnerships signed in recent years with other European partners, contributing to a stronger, more independent and more sovereign Europe.
