Communiqué - Attribution de l'organisation des Jeux Olympiques et Paralympiques de 2024

Un siècle après les Jeux de 1924, le Comité International Olympique (CIO) a choisi de confier à Paris et à la France l’organisation des Jeux Olympiques et Paralympiques de 2024.

Le Président de la République Emmanuel MACRON est extrêmement reconnaissant au CIO de cette décision qui honore la France. Elle portera avec fierté les valeurs de l’olympisme de solidarité, d’excellence, d’amitié et de respect.

Emmanuel MACRON salue ce succès et la formidable opportunité que les Jeux représentent pour accompagner la transformation de notre pays, accroitre son attractivité internationale, dynamiser nos territoires, et renforcer la place du sport partout en France.

Le Président adresse ses plus chaleureuses félicitations à Tony ESTANGUET et Bernard LAPASSET et à toute l’équipe de Paris 2024 qu’ils ont animé. Il recevra, aux côtés de la Ministre des Sports, Laura FLESSEL, l’ensemble des acteurs impliqués dans la candidature à l’Elysée vendredi 15 septembre 2017 pour saluer cette victoire historique.

Ces jeux seront des jeux extraordinaires, surprenants, festifs mais aussi des jeux exemplaires en matière de maitrise budgétaire, d’impact environnemental et social, et de sécurité. C’est pourquoi dès demain, le Président de la République nommera en Conseil des ministres un délégué interministériel chargé des Jeux Olympiques et Paralympiques pour accompagner et coordonner l’ensemble des services de l’Etat.

A century after the 1924 Olympics, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) has chosen Paris and France to host the 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

The President of the French Republic, Emmanuel Macron, is very grateful to the International Olympic Committee for this decision which is an honour for France. France will be proud to uphold the Olympic values of solidarity, excellence, friendship and respect.

Emmanuel Macron welcomes this success and the exceptional opportunity that the Games will provide to support France’s transformation, increase its international attractiveness and dynamism, and boost the role of sport throughout France.

The President would like to offer his warmest congratulations to Tony Estanguet and Bernard Lapasset and their entire Paris 2024 team. The President, together with the Minister for Sport, Laura Flessel, will receive all those involved in the bid at the Elysée on Friday 15 September 2017 to celebrate this historic victory.

These Olympic Games will be extraordinary, surprising and festive, but will also be an exemplary Games as regards budget management, environmental and social impact, and security. This is why, tomorrow, the President will appoint an Interministerial Delegate for the Olympic and Paralympic Games to the Council of Ministers who will be responsible for supporting and coordinating all State departments.
