The impact of AI is unprecedented and multidimensional. Open and multistakeholder processes are necessary in order to ensure decisions made today are both informed and legitimate. In this spirit, the Sciences Po Paris, the CNNum, Make.org, The Future Society and the AI & Society Institute are opening a discussion process for the scientific community as well as civil society. They are encouraged to share ideas and concrete solutions in light of the challenges being discussed at the upcoming AI Action Summit.
This process fully includes civil society organizations and academics in multistakeholder contact groups and is organized to ensure the broadest participation possible.
Individuals and organizations from the scientific and academic community, as well as from think tanks and civil society (NGOs, journalists, citizens, etc.) are invited to:
- Send written contributions documenting and supporting their opinions on the five themes of the Summit via this platform: https://aisummit-expertconsultation.org. For each theme, there are specific questions for which additional inputs would be welcome.
- Join the online interactive discussion in response to the question “How can AI be used to improve our societies and economies?” by clicking on this link: https://aisummit-consultation.org
We are aware that it may be difficult for some stakeholders to participate due to timing or financial constraints. We are thus naturally expecting and will be accepting contributions with no specific requirements, including contributions that have already been published.
By sending your contribution or joining the discussion participants, you:
- Help the AI Action Summit team ensure ideas from all stakeholder groups and regions of the world are informing the summit’s deliverables;
- Join a platform from which some contributors will be selected to attend the summit;
- Join a community that will be called on after the summit to follow-up on some deliverables.
The consultation is open from 18 September 2024 to 15 November 2024. Submissions made through this process are not official outputs of the summit but will be considered as input into the multistakeholder process. A synthesis of the input received will be made public and presented in December 2024 to the Special Envoy of the French President for the summit as well as the five envoys leading the discussions and shepherding the contact groups on the themes of the Summit.
