Anne Bouverot, the President's Special Envoy for AI, visited London from 30 September to 2 October 2024. This visit is part of the preparations for the AI Action Summit that France will host on 10 and 11 February 2025.
During her stay, the Special Envoy met British government representatives to discuss issues related to artificial intelligence. She also obtained feedback on the first edition of the Summit, organized by the UK in November 2023 at Bletchley Park. Discussions with the Prime Minister's teams, the Cabinet Office and various government departments have strengthened Franco-British dialogue on topics of common interest, including the international governance of AI.
Anne Bouverot also held talks with Feryal Clark, the new Secretary of State for AI, and Matt Clifford, the special envoy for the UK's Bletchley Summit. These meetings helped to share the two countries' visions and priorities in the field of artificial intelligence.
To conclude the trip, she presented the objectives of the French summit to a diverse audience, including specialist journalists and think tanks committed to the development of AI on a global scale, such as the Tony Blair Institute for Global Change.
This visit to London has been decisive for the preparation of the AI Action Summit, strengthening international collaborations and laying the foundations for a crucial event for the future of artificial intelligence.
