Surprising, isn’t it? For the past few days, a stunning surfboard has been on display in the entrance hall of the Maison Élysée. It was first shown at the Élysée Palace during the 2024 Made in France exhibition. Inspired by the painting Liberty Leading the People, the “Trooper” board combines bold design with environmentally responsible materials, featuring recycled fibreglass sourced from the aeronautics industry and finished with gold leaf.

Based in Marennes, between land and sea, Shapers Club is a workshop of passionate artisans founded in 1991 by brothers Thomas and Renaud Cardinal. Labelled Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant (EPV) and recognised as Maîtres Artisans, they embody French excellence by blending innovation and tradition to craft bespoke, high-end surfboards.
