The third Sherpa meeting took place in Toulouse from 19 to 22 May 2026. Following the preparatory work undertaken under the French G7 Presidency since 1 January 2026, these four days of discussions between partners enabled agreement to be reached on the substance of the issues to be placed on the agenda of the Summit of Heads of State and Government, to be held from 15 to 17 June.
As the Evian Summit approaches, France welcomes the progress made in the discussions and wishes to thank all its G7 partners, as well as the representatives of the four invited countries: India, Brazil, Kenya and the Republic of Korea. By fully involving these countries in the discussions, France has succeeded in broadening the scope of the commitments to be made at G7 level. Common positions are emerging on all the priority issues identified by the President of the French Republic.
The G7 partners are therefore working to:
- define the conditions for equitable and sustainable growth, by reforming international partnerships and reducing global macroeconomic imbalances;
- strengthen the resilience of critical mineral value chains;
- to build a safe digital environment for minors.
As was the case in Versailles at the first Sherpa meeting, and subsequently in Aix-en-Provence in an expanded format, the choice of Toulouse has once again enabled France to showcase the breadth of expertise found across its regions.The presence of Airbus in the region enabled foreign delegations to appreciate, through a tour of the A350 assembly line, the level of expertise achieved by the world leader in civil aviation.
The final Sherpa meeting will be held in Evian, ahead of the G7 Summit, to prepare for discussions at the level of heads of state and government.
