This page lists all the practical information for the media participating in the upcoming G7 Summit (Biarritz - 24, 25 and 26 August 2019).

Accreditation process

The accreditation procedure for the Summit is now closed. Accreditation confirmations were sent to journalists by email.

 

Getting to Biarritz

Biarritz airport will be closed to the public from Thursday, 22 August at 23:59 until Monday, 26 August inclusive.

Biarritz train station will be closed from Friday, 23 August at 23:59 until Monday, 26 August inclusive. (Several TGV trains will be running between Paris and Biarritz on Friday, 23 August: www.oui.sncf)

For any question relating to the booking of trains to and/or from Biarritz, the SNCF has set up a special phone number (+33 (0)1 84 90 20 90) useable every day from 7am to 10pm.

Media centers

Accreditation centre – pass collection

We recommend that you collect your pass to the accreditation centre as soon as you arrive in Biarritz.

Identity checks will be carried out when you collect your passes. You must therefore collect your passes in person and show your identity documents and confirmation e-mail.

  • Saturday 24 August from 7:30am to 1:00am

Access

The accreditation centre is at the Iraty press centre (Collège d’Ostéopathie 6 Rue des Alouettes, 64200 Biarritz). It is easy to reach the accreditation centre using the shuttle buses between the airport/TGV mainline station and the accreditation centre.

Getting around Biarritz

If you use one, we recommend that you park your personal vehicle at the press centre and use the shuttle buses provided for any journey towards the Summit venue.

Shuttle buses to the press centre (non-stop)

  • Thursday 22 August: shuttle buses between the airport and press centre (Halle d’Iraty)
  • Thursday 22 and Friday 23 August: shuttle buses between the station and the press centre/accreditation centre
  • From 23 to 26 August: shuttle buses between the Midi Station (city centre) and the press centre/accreditation centre from 6:15am to 1:00am.

Shuttle buses to the advanced press centre (Casino)

  • Departures at 7:00am and 8:30am from Iraty to the advanced press centre in secure and escorted buses. NB: departures from Halle d’Iraty to the advanced press centre will be subject to mandatory security and bomb disposal checks and upon presentation of a specific Casino pass (which must be collected from the media contacts in each delegation). The advanced press centre will not be accessible on foot.
  • Return trips will be made at midday and 3:00pm –> TBC.
  • Departure from the advanced press centre at 8:30pm to Midi Station (city centre) and then the press centre.
  • No re-entry to the advanced press centre will be allowed.

Shuttles to Bayonne and Anglet

  • Departures to Bayonne and Anglet from 23 to 25 August from Midi Station (23 Avenue du Maréchal Foch). Departures in the evening at 7:00pm, 7:30pm and 8:00pm. Return from 9:30pm, shuttle buses every 30 minutes.

Taxis

  • The “Les Taxis de Biarritz” will provide non-stop taxi service in Biarritz and the surrounding area for the entire duration of the summit. www.taxis-biarritz.com / Tel.: +33 (0)5 59 03 18 18

 

Food and drink

Lunch: buffet lunch provided at the Press centre and the advanced press centre

Dinner: a Ticket Restaurant Edenred card will be provided in your Welcome Pack which will enable you to dine in the city centre from 23 to 26 August in a network of 600 partner restaurants (card useable from 5:30pm for up to €25 per day). This card is contactless, but for security reasons, the first transaction must be made with the PIN code you have been given. For any questions, you can contact Nathalie Renaudin at any time: 0033615597060 Limited, light snacks will be available at Iraty.

  • High-speed Internet connection (wifi and RJ)
  • Offices for G7 delegations
  • Offices available to reserve by delegations
  • Stand-up positions (specify quantity on form)
  • Host broadcaster feed available

  • Two briefing rooms in duplex with CPA briefings, free to book
  • Parking spaces for SNG vehicles
  • Small reprographics centre

Advanced press centre - Casino

  • High-speed Internet connection (wifi and RJ)
  • Stand-up positions (specify quantity on form)
  • Host broadcaster feed available
  • CCTV available

 

Free HB signal

  • TV broadcasters in closed cubicles (at Iraty only) will be able to pick up the signal in their cubicle.
  • TV broadcasters without closed cubicles will be able to pick up the signal, in various formats, at the CP or CPA on HD SDI distributors.
  • Other media outlets will be able to pick up the signal at the SERTE.

 

Stand-up positions

30 positions at the press centre (Iraty) and 15 positions at the advanced press centre (Casino):

  • Agencies or media outlets who be allocated one of these positions should bring their equipment (cameras, tripods, microphones, additional lighting, etc.)
  • One position will be fully equipped at Iraty and at the advanced press centre and will be available for booking at the organization office. Priority will be given to invited foreign channels who do not have the necessary equipment for duplex or do not have a subscription to agencies.

 

Cubicles

8 cubicles at Iraty will be reserved for media agencies (between 25 and 50m2). 

Approximately 50 TV/Radio cubicles (between 9 and12m²) will also be available at Iraty.

Each will be equipped with:

  • Electrical plugs;
  • Cabled links to the master control room;
  • Lighting;
  • Tables and chairs (between 8 and 10 seats);
  • A CCTV feed screen.

Agencies or media outlets who are allocated a cubicle should bring their own editing equipment.
