Paris, 9 September 2007
Sir,
At this time when Morocco has just successfully run another general election, I would like to extend to Your Majesty, the political parties and Moroccan people my most sincere congratulations and express my admiration for the democratic robustness your country has once again demonstrated. In particular, I want to salute the excellent organizational abilities of the officials involved, working under your high authority.
Moreover, Your Majesty's commitment, reaffirmed several times, to a transparent electoral process was a decisive factor in the success of the poll and I want to pay tribute to this.
In response to Your kind invitation, I am very much looking forward to paying a State visit to Morocco in the near future. I express the hope that this visit will contribute to tightening still further the ties of friendship, trust, respect and partnership which exist so felicitously between our two countries and peoples.
(complimentary close).
